Sills, pontoon covers and radiator cover

Spend some time on making the pontoon covers, door sills and radiator cover.
Split the sills in two parts.

Had to do it this way. On the other site when you do it this way you can click on it and make it bigger. Not sure why that is not working here.
Tried to do it again on this one but it did not change anything.

You can add a picture directly from your computer files, as an attachment to a post. It shows as a thumbnail, which is expandable when it is clicked.

To do that, first click on the "go advanced" box on the lower right of your post. You will then see a "paperclip icon" added to the toolbar at the top of your post. Click on that, and it opens a new box, which at the top say's Add Files. Click on that, and then click on Choose Files, which then allows you to browse and choose a picture file from your computer, camera, or memory stick, etc. When you find the picture you want double click on it. Then click "upload". When it shows up in the bar at the bottom, click "Done". The picture will then show up on your post as a clickable thumb-nail, when you've finished your post, and click on "Submit Repy".

It's pretty simple actually once you have done it a few times. The only issue might be if your picture file is to large. I think there is a maximum size limit, so you may need to change the resolution.

According to the exif data the pics are only 75x100 which are shown almost actual size. How are you taking the photos? That's the size that is uploaded to PB. Some of the photos in your PB album are 768X1028 so somewhere along the line the resolution you're uploading has changed.

Here's an example. This is a screenshot from your main album page. The right (older) image is much sharper than the left which is the same as the other three you just uploaded.

I airdropped them from my phone to my IPAD. I wonder if something was lost there, or while uploading to PB. The upload was a PITA.

Actually the pics I used where not working on the IPad any more either. So I saved the pics from the other forum onto the iPad and then reposted from there.

John if the radiator cover doesn't have any additional support underneath it you may want to consider adding a bead roll or two to stiffen it up. There will be a lot of wind on that flat sheet so it my flutter and make noise.

Does the rectangular sheet in front of the radiator make the rubber molding on the triangle-shaped pieces unnecessary? I understand that the rectangular piece you added is to direct more air into the radiator. I have not installed that piece yet as I understand it needs to be fitted to the hood, which needs to be fitted to the body, which needs to be fitted to the frame, etc. So, would you or any other builders feel comfortable just installing the triangle piece with the cover, forgetting about the molding, and adding the piece you fabricated? Or should I just wait to fit that piece to the hood?

Xlr8r, long time no see. Yeah I've been looking for someone who can bead roll. So far nothing. I did 90 degree bend the front ledge to stiffen it up

That piece does not get any rubber I thought, just the triangle pieces on the actual radiator exhaust shroud. Maybe it does and I just didn't realize it. I only remember seeing them on the shroud on other guys cars so never really thought about it.

I looked at more pictures and I think you are correct. I am going to follow your lead and make one of those pieces to go in front of the radiator.

I actually have a bead roller and, if I have the right die set, would be happy to roll that if you wanted to ship it down to me. I have never used it as I am storing it for a friend who lost shop space in a move, but with a little practice on some scrap (and my own part) I should be OK. I will check the die sets shortly.

As mentioned before I did 90 degree the front edge down with about 1". You could probably angle up the edge at the radiator and stiffen it up that way.
Keep me posted on how you do with the bead roller if you decide to go that way.
Looked for one at HF but they stopped carrying it.

Rather than get the right die set for the bead roller, I decided to attach the front radiator cover to the radiator with a small "L" shaped piece of aluminum. Between that and being folded over at both ends, it should be stiff enough. I also stiffened the part below the radiator with a piece of aluminum angle and built a rectangular piece to direct airflow to the radiator at the bottom.
