I cant get my fan to turn on, I have it controlled by a switch and I have two wires at the dish called fan and fan power and at the front of the car I have a wire called fan. Do I connect fan power to an ignition source? I am using a painless wire harness if it matters.

Thanks.

Need a little more info ...
Are you currently running a relay for the fan somewhere in the harness? (= the highly preferred method)
Or is all of that power draw from the fan wired to go through the switch itself?

As of right now I have no relay on the fan, however it is wired up through the fuse box.

Get a volt meter and see which one is hot and go from there. Most single contact temp switches complete the ground if you want auto control. If you want full manual control you still need a ground and a hot wire and a relay is best for the startup load. Go to the "other forum and find the Indy 14 build thread. J. Kleiner has a write up on a RF harness setup for full manual or auto that is sweeeeeet.

You should use a relay. Here's a couple of ways to wire a fan.
