Hi
So I managed to get my hood fitting good at the front edge and windshield edge, but its high along the sides, like it has a tighter radius than the body. I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same? Can I wedge in rubber spacers to raise the body at that point?

Raise the body with rubber wedges/spacers. Latching the hood down helps a lot too. This is a pretty common issue.

Thanks Rick. Can you buy rubber wedges? Just wondering what will work.

I'm at the same point on a 289 roadster. Mine doesn't seem curved more, but seems twisted relative to the body opening. I have the larger bumpers with a piece of 1/8" paint stir sticks underneath taped to the hood opening lip, two in the back, two on the sides, and two up front to try to level out. Latches are mounted. I think I'll have to put some sort of bumper, maybe a piece of rubber hose with a screw thru it, between the frame tube and opening lip. One other thing I noticed is there isn't anything to positively locate the back of the hood to the opening, so it can float around. I am thinking of creating some cone shaped setup to mate to a hole at the rear center of the hood inner liner raised section to maintain position of the hood. I see original Cobras had a seal all the around the opening, but I don't see that with this kit for the hood or doors. I'm only seeing the trunk seal.

Pete I used a continuous piece or 3M 'D' section seal around hood. I don't have the twist that you are experiencing, but will need a rubber wedge to force the body up slightly at the mid point on each side. These cars do need a bit of massaging!

Thanks Chop, I was thinking of looking for a suitable seal. I'll get back to fiddling with it shortly.
