Hi all,
A couple of quick questions;
1) what fuel pump is recommended for the mod motors?
2) when changing the oil pan does the gasket/windage tray combo have to be replaced on a new crate engine?
Many thanx.
Regards,
Andy

Andy,

As I understand it, there are two different ways to supply fuel for the mod motors. Either returnless or returned. I went with the returnless set up which utilizes only 1 fuel supply line (no return line) and a Fuel Pump Driver Module (FPDM) which is a small electronic box that assists to control the fuel pump to maintain a constant pressure (approx 40psi). (square black box in the top two photos below mounted on the side triangular panel of trunk) I also utilized a Telorvek panel from The Detail Zone to connect all the fuel injection bits and pieces. I mounted all of my fuel injection controls (pcm, fpdm, and Telorvek panel) in the trunk. I used a stock mustang fuel tank and integral pump with my build. The pump is mounted inside the tank and all I had to do was plumb it all up and connect the wiring to the Telorvek / PCM. It was relatively easy with the Telorvek.

As for the oil pan, I re-used my gasket but I replaced my stock windage tray with a Canton Racing Tray. I also used a Champ Pan from North Race Cars for the modular. I can't recall if the stock windage tray will interfere with the FFR pan but I believe it may and will need to be removed. You can try it and see. Also - get the stud kit from Canton to mount your pan; it will save you a TON of headaches. Makes the install of a FFR or Champ Pan soooo much easier.
