This may seem like a simple question but I honestly don't know the answer. The brake light switch, it just free floats on the brake pedal? If this is true, what or how does movement of the pedal which the switch freely moves with, trigger the brake lights? Or am I missing something?

the brake switch floats on top of the frame bar, when you step on the brake pedal, it rides back and up on the top of the frame bar and actuates the switch...Steven

Actually When you push the brake pedal it forces the pushrod back which is just enough movement to activate the switch. Make sure the spacer is in place on the pushrod mount

Sooooo...the necessary movement to trigger the switch is minuscule, if all is hooked up right. I'm sure mine is, but Monday I'll get up under the dash with a strong light and just verify everything. Thanks John.

Bought a tester... brakes work like a charm.
Thanks Steven.

Funny how many people use both forums for the same question they have.
