I used this one. With a 1" center gap, the extra 3/4" width at the front end allows the stripes to continue just outside the oil cooler opening, instead of ending at the opening and restarting underneath:

The problem with keeping the width the same all the way is the optical allusion that they are wider at the nose as seen in your picture. jmo

Keeping them semetrical all the way gives the look of a wider stripe in the front. Just something to consider. Yoiu can always adjust the stripe all the way when using the pin stripe. I did that on a car and it turned out fine.
