Immediately after last years open house I ordered my MK4. I was hoping to drive it to this one. Sadly, I am falling a little short. With that said, I am definitely going to be there. Who else is going? I would love to meet some of the folks who have been so helpful over the past year in person!
Cheers,

I'm going, independent of weather, as a first timer. My wife and I are flying into Providence, RI on Friday night, and will be parking our rental at their suggested off site location Saturday morning. I, too, would love to meet some of the people from the forum who share so much of their experiences. I hope I can become somewhat of a useful reference after I get to building, but the bar is high given the quality of the members here.
My goals for the open house: Meet interesting people and drool over their cars (hopefully not literally). See what innovative additions or ideas that have successfully been incorporated in their builds. Discussions about lessons learned with hopes of avoiding common pitfalls. And, I hope to catch a glimpse of something labeled with our name, on its way to kit completion, while there. Perhaps on the tour?
See you there!

I'll be driving up on Friday. This will be my first time at the open house and the first long trip for my roadster (still in gelcoat).

I plan to be there in my 'Rat Rod' unfinished MkIII - her first time 'home' since picking up 10 years ago!
I have a favour to ask - inspired by 'NiceGuyEddie', I would love for as many people at Open House as I can get to sign my car. She's not painted and may not be for a while, so I'm just having fun with the bodywork while I enjoy driving it.
If you see 'Number 09', please grab a pen (I'll bring a handful) and leave a message inside the lines that would define the stripes!

I will be there. It will be my longest drive in my roadster as well but I'll be coming down with Rick with his as well so hopefully neither of us will need to open up our tool bags along the way. We'll be heading down Friday and the weather so looks good, 80+/- on Saturday with sun. Let's hope it stays that way.

I have attended every open house since 2007, but due to health related issues, this will be the first time that my roadster that we picked up in September of 2008 and just finished 5 months ago will be there.
lahrs37. I followed your engine experience and was impressed with how you didn't let your head explode over the whole episode and just jumped in and resolved the problem. Do yourself a favor and buy rent or steal a trailer and get your under construction roadster back to the mother ship for the open house.

Wife and I will be coming in from Syracuse on Friday. Just started my build, so I'm hoping seeing all the cars in person will help with some of the decisions that need to be made. Hopefully the weather is good!

Amen. That's how I knew you would lick that wiring problem. You've got a lot more patience (and skill) than I do!

Good luck on the ride. Gelcoat is pretty, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. :)

That is awesome. What a journey! If I lived a little closer I might be able to justify a trailor, but my wife already is appalled by the time and money I have put into this.

Ha! If I had more patience (or skill) I probably wouldn't be doing everything twice! lol The only attribute I think I probably have is tenacity - but that is something that everyone who builds one of these has too. :)

Was planning on attending with 7074, but it's broke at the moment. Nothing major, just dealing with some ignition and fuel issues. Unfortunately, I won't have time to get it up and running and tested in time to make the trip, so it looks like I'll be saying "wait 'til next year" once again.
Guess I have'ta go cancel a few hotel reservations now.... sigh......

FormaCars is planning on attending, bringing our 818S (http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?23882-A-Fallen-WRX-Rises-Again) and Mark IV (http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?23720-FormaCars-MKIV-9004-Build). We might not get much sleep between now and then, but we're coming. :D
