For the 289 folks out there, someone out there must know what this triangular tab is for that is molded into the body at the left rear of the engine bay opening. It doesn't seem rigid enough for much of anything, Maybe a switch mount? There is only one at this location. If there was another opposite I would guess a buffer mount, but not so.

Just checked mine and it is not there. Seems to have been cut off at some point.

Interesting, I see in the past threads that it seems to have been cut off and the relief that is left gives some slight room for accessing the cover pate on the footbox.

That's interesting, I still have no clue what it's for. It blocks the access panel so I plan to cut mine off. I thought about using it to mount a cone shaped snubber to fit into a hole in the inner hood ridge to positively position the hood on center every time it's closed, but that is not much of a mounting point. I'll make a metal one rear center mounted to the opening jamb.

Some molds have a tab like that to help with removing the molded piece from the mold. Kind of like your personal pull-tab!

Thanks, that makes some sense.
