I'm got a hold of a remote hydrobooster tank from a mercury voyager master cylinder with the hoses and nipples still attached to master cylinder. Does anyone know how to remove the nipples (elbows) from the master cylinder. I'm guessing you just pry them off but don't want to break them as I don't know if I can find another unit. Thanks

I can't tell you exactly how to remove them (mine came to me loose) but I can tell you they are just a single barb end. I pushed them in past the grommet on the top of the MC reservoir opening I was using and that was it. My guess is that yes, you need to yank them out somehow. I'd bet they will be difficult to pull but some combination of pull, twist and wiggle should eventually do it. I'd really hesitate before using any tools to 'pry' them up. You're right, the plastic probably won't stand up to it. Is the existing MC junk? Can you try squeezing a bit of WD40 or other lubricant in around the grommet to see if it helps loosen things up?

I was just asking about the MC because I wasn't sure whether your intention was to keep/sell/trade it, in which case I probably wouldn't recommend contaminating it with some kind of liquid lubricant. I was just spitballing with the idea of spraying lubricant to suggest it might make it easier to pull the elbows out of the (Villager) MC, as long as you aren't worried about keeping it? You can use a very light smear of Motorcraft silicone brake caliper grease on the MC grommet before pushing the elbows/nipples into place (sounds dirty, I know ).
