I have loved the roadster for a long time but at 6-01 (all legs) I hear I am too tall and it would be a tight squeeze. My secodn choice is the 33 hotrod as it looks like it can take a taller guy. Anyone with firsthand knowledge of either car who can chime in?

Look at David Hodgkin's build and restoration threads.
He is the Resident Giant of the Factory Five Family.

I'm 6-02 and I'm very comfortable in the seat. I installed the seat with a slight cant back to make the position a little more enjoyable. Its a tight fit but it also helps to make you feel like you,re part of the car. Foot room is a little lean but I still have room to stretch out beside the clutch peddle and touch the front wall off the footbox. Just remember...Its not a touring car you're building. Its a totally different driving experience like no other. And worth every moment behind the wheel.

There are some basic mods related to the pedals and seat that can give you and additional ~4" of legroom and ~2" of headroom. Nothing that requires welding. I've had guys as big as 6'11" be able to get in, close the door and work the pedals.
