Hope I didn't mess up...could anyone that has a SBF in a MK4 measure the approximate distance from the top of the passenger footbox down to the exhaust header?
Laying a straight edge on top of the footbox and using a tape measure where would the header start? I've enclosed a pic that shows where I mounted the passenger inlet vent hose for ventilation and I'm worried that once the motor and header are installed I'm gonna have interference? Realizing there may be some differences...as long as its more than 5 3/4 inches I'll be ok...thanks in advance

I have a Mk3.1 so a different foot-box, but it looks like the SBF headers will fit below that. They will throw a lot of heat into that duct hose. though

It's going to be close, but I think you'll make it. You're going to want to put some heat shield on those duct hoses I think.
Here's some quick measurements from my foot box (mk4) to headers. But.. it's important to note that I'm using solid motor mounts that are supposed to drop the motor about 3/4".

On my MK4 the distance from the straight edge bottom to the top of the headers is between 4 and 4 1/2 inches.

I see that you have some panels mounted on the footbox to create an air gap, that's a great idea. I haven't had much experience driving the car as yet, so I don't know how much heat there is gonna be. The air duct is on my potential list though.

thanks everyone for taking the time to measure and give your inputs, really appreciate it..I think I'll make it but not by much. May end up putting a 22.5 degree joint to make it go upward over the pipes? I was going to put some form of heat shield between the duct and the header...even thought about a heat wrap but as a last resort. On my heat panels I have 3/8" of air space, though some have said they aren't necessary my feeble mind says they have to buffer the heat at least some...being from the south you learn to "fear" heat! thanks again

I used a foot box spaced shield and it works very well.

You must have used very long rivets to mount them?
