Since all the boxes are empty and all the parts are on the car I can say it is done. There maybe some minor tuning and adjusting the brake bias after some miles but it is over. I bought the car in November 0f 2015 and it arrived 2 days before Thanksgiving. It was a partial build and was running but that was it. I was told by my wife to keep it running and not totally take it apart. Just finish it. Well that lasted about a week and I had the motor apart and the body off. Going to fuel inject it and clean up some issues. Pretty much totally rebuilt the car but it was well worth it. The original builder had a ton of very good parts and spent a lot on better items so it was there I just had to make it my way. The only thing I did not do was the paint and body. I did spend the first 3 days with the body man, good friends of mine so we were able to get it the way I wanted and he knew what to do. He has never painted a Factory Five so he was pretty stoked to do this. Been in the business for 40 years so he has seen a lot. I have driven the car about 500 miles so far in various stages and all I can say is it keeps getting better. I will say you have to respect this car. With 540 HP from a Gordon Levy built 408 I have yet to use the throttle stop. It just gets sideways in a hurry in all gears. I have given a few rides and the comment is usually "I have never riden in anything like that". Here are a couple of bad photos I took today as the weather was decent.

Looks very nice.
I am just about to get my car back from paint and finish up and I am paying particular attention to the kirkey high back seat install.
Yours look like they are sitting a little higher than mine where when I mocked them up. Do you have them on a base or track? Any install tips on those?

I'm only 5'7" so they are a ;little higher. The drivers side is on tracks as I have short legs so I wanted them to slide. The passenger side is bolted down but it is on 1 inch square tubing. These are 16 inch highbacks. I did move the slider arm to the inside which was a project one night and it turned out very well. I have some pictures if you would like. I just have to dig them out. The original builder was bigger and had 18 inch highbacks but I felt like I was not secure in them. He had them bolted to the floor. Icould barely reach the pedals.

That's a beautifull build, Congratulations !!!
Two questions, and 1 comment:

1 How long did it take you
2 what are those lights on the front ? Mini cooper or Miata?

I see you have a chrome or aluminum strip on the dash, that's a nice touch, I like the carbon fiber looks as well.

I got the car and it was running and driving but no interior or body work and a lot left undone. That is why I decided to tear into it and redo a lot of it. I have lost track of all the fixes and redos but it was a lot. I bought it November 2015 and it arrived 2 days before thanksgiving 2015. Started work right away on it.

Neither try this website http://tangentkits.com/Driving_Lights_and_Grill.php

The strip you are seeing must be a reflection. It is all carbon fiber. Probably would not have been my choice but it was on the car and it worked well.

Hopefully this answers your questions. Let me know if you need anything else.

Bought. Don't know if they are still out there. The website does not seem to be loading but here is a post on the other forum about them. They were not cheap but are a thing of beauty once installed.
