GoKarted a couple of weeks ago. I did not like the brakes at all and the clutch was too sensitive.
I have twin-piston PBR's up front and the GT single piston rear. Hawk HPS on the front, Hawk HP+ on the rear. 3/4" master cyls, both front and rear. 3/4" mast cyl for clutch with CNC 7/8" slave and Fortes' billet clutch fork for Quicktime housings and a King Cobra clutch.
After some searching, I found the following two sites that helped me a lot:
A brake calculator:
http://www.jakelatham.com/radical/info/brake_calculators.shtml
info about brakes on Factory Five's site:
http://www.factoryfive.com/table/whatsnew/tech/brakeadvice.html
Advice from the "brakeadvice" given the calipers being used was 5/8" rear and .70" front. Funny that they shipped 3/4" for both with my kit. After playing with the calculator and more searches, I ordered 5/8" for the rear and .70 for the front. What a difference. The brakes WORK and feel good to boot. I can now lock the fronts. (Will deal with the balance bar fine-tuning once the body is on.)
After calculating clutch fluid volumes, I replaced the clutch slave cyl with a .70. The sensitivity is gone and it feels and works great.
Hope this might help someone else.
