Hi Guys,
I am running an explorer motor that will have factory fives 4x4 headers. Will I need to relocate the oil filter? It looks like it could interfere with the lower rad hose.
Thanks in advance!

I'm running (not yet running mind you) an explorer 302 with the BBK 4->4 headers. I removed that big long crazy oil filter adapter from the explorer and toss it in the trash. Just had to get an oil filter nipple for the stock location on the side of the block. Summit sells them for cheap (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aaf-all92003) . I put on a slightly shorter than stock oil filter.. and good to go.

Ahhh thank you so much. Is there a reason you need a shorter than stock filter?

Thanks John. Think I'm going with skidds recommendation. I have the relocation kit that comes with the kit

The 351 blocks will fit a Motorcraft FL1A filter which is pretty big. I hope others will chime in as to whether it will fit the 302. If not, there is a shorter version, but I don't have the number.

I ordered the fl1a filter. I'll let you know if I run into any issues. Well let's be serious Craig, you'll be the first one I call lol

There are no clearance issues when using long tube headers. The FL1a filter is a standard size filter, always used on small blocks. There is no reason to order one, walk into the locate auto parts store and get one there.

^ what rich said. I installed a Mobile-1 M1-204 oil filter way way ahead of installing the motor into the frame. It's a little shorter than the stock sized filter. I wasn't sure if there was going to be a clearance issue or not... looking at it now.. there's plenty of room for a standard SBF filter in there. Which I'll switch back to after my next oil change.
P.S. In my I said "not yet running".. scratch that.. she's running now!!

Lol awesome guys. Thanks so much. I ordered it because it was 3 or 4 bucks from rockauto and I had an order of brakes for my wife's car.
Thanks again!
