Hi,

Since I will be driving on Aruba in constant 90 degree weather I was wondering if I would need to order something to protect my passenger and myself against our feet getting too hot. I remember hearing somebody talk about an aluminum coating/sheet that you can apply on the outside of the foot box.
Anybody have any experience with this? I will be getting a 302 based small block engine by the way.

Any input would help, thx guys!

Tim

I used the Mk4 Koolmat kit for the cockpit. Works great. You really do not need to add the rear cockpit wall.

With a 302 you have reasonable clearances in the engine compartment. Decent insulation products, like the ones already mentioned plus there are lots of others, on the inside of the cockpit aluminum plus the carpet will keep the footboxes at ambient temperatures. I've done this on my builds and do not feel engine heat in the cockpit. No need in my opinion for insulation products on the engine side.
