View Full Version : What the past 4 months have been like with my FFR.....

I got so swamped with work that I decided to just take the FFR to a local performance shop and have them finish what little needed to be done and tune it, this was in Late February and I just now got the car back after having to hire an attorney and with the help from the local police. I was fed so much crap that I am not sure what is true or what isn't true but all I do know is I was missing a lot of parts and zero work was done. I was told the owners brother died, then his cousin then his uncle so I gave them some slack on the time they were taking since there were less than 5 hours of work needed to be done but after 2 months I said that's it and just asked for my car back and then all of a sudden the owner died, supposedly. After another month of promises to get the car out I got tired of it again and showed up with the local police and tried to file a stolen vehicle report which they refused to do because I willfully gave them the vehicle, even though I have already issued multiple 3 day demand letters to have it released. I then had to hire an attorney and spent thousands which still took over a month to get the car back but I finally did last Wednesday at around 2am. I made a list of things that were missing and placed the order through Redline, Summit, Speedhut and multiple other vendors. Luckily the most expensive parts like the stack injecting manifold and motor were not touched but I still had to spend a little over $3k to replace the missing parts. All in all it cost me almost $7k to get the car back and replace all the parts that were missing but I spent the weekend working on the car and got everything done and now I am hoping to try and do a second first start tomorrow.
End rant.

Wow. What's the name of the shop?

That's REALLY sucks. Sounds like you're keeping your head up; that's the important thing.

Let us know if you want to get together some weekend. I need to stretch my roadster's legs anyway...

Right now I am not releasing the name of the shop due to pending legal action, I am going to try and recoup what it cost me. Once that is complete I will plaster their name everywhere, trust me :).

I went through just about the same thing with my roadster getting it painted. Only cost me an extra 2800.00 to finally get it back in my garage. I'm sure there are alot on here and the other forum that can tell you about a certin painter (he didnt have my car tho') that closed up shop and they lost a ton.
