5835 Approved for Title in New Jersey

[Someday I Suppose]

Just got back from Morristown, this was the second visit for the state inspection which is required in NJ in order to get a title. Today they just checked over the few things they wanted corrected from the first visit and I was in and out in about 30 minutes with my paperwork. I am officially approved for titling.

It looks like you can no longer drive down and get the title, but we have a call into Trenton to find out for sure if there isn't a way for us to drive down today and get it.

Call (609) 292-6500 ask for the special titles division.
The office is located on State Street in Trenton. Used to have a direct number for their division but seem to have misplaced it at the moment.

Bill, thanks called into them as soon as we got back, still working on finding the paperwork. They did give me an original copy so I will call back tomorrow and fax it over if they haven't 'found it'.

AJ thanks buddy, still gotta push a little more paper and go through the emissions testing but certainly getting closer.

On the way home today I couldn't help but think, wouldn't it be cool if the computes were just all connected so that when they completed the form at the inspection station it was already in the system in Trenton and into the workflow? Maybe someday... :-)

Ted, that's just cold.

I just got off the phone with Trenton, they no longer allow you to go down and get a title the same day. They mailed a letter to me yesterday asking for a check to cover sales tax. I could also mail them a check now to cover the sales tax, but then there is risk of it not going to the right person straight away, and I am not sure that the day I save is worth the risk there.

So... hopefully I will see a title sometime next week... :-)

Ted my man, you obviously have not been inside my garage in the last couple of weeks!! Going to the open house lit the fire and I still continue my string of working on it every day, even if only a little, every single day, since the open house. Saturday is at risk because of a family obligation, but if I get up early enough I might get an hour out there.

Big news today, I mailed my check last week, and the title arrived yesterday. Stopped by the MVC on the way into the office and besides a bit of a line registration was quick and easy. I have my plates in hand and as soon as I get home from the office they are going on the car... :-)
