Mkiv trunk lid on a mrk2?

Im working on a mrk2 and need a trunk lid. Im using Breeze hinges but need to know if i can massage a mrkiv trunk to fit. I know the mrk3 guys did but FFR parts dept specifically states the mrk 4 wont fit a mrk 1 or 2. Thanks

I thought it was the hood that would not fit. Pretty sure the trunk will. Don't buy one solely on my advice though. Mike

Ok. Another question on the trunk...
I got the weatherstrip that everyone recomends from mcmaster carr. I have to grind the entire down return off the trunk opening to fit this. This will really reduce the strength of the opening. Is this what everyone does?64152

You want to use the bulb seal Mike Everson sells. It's self adhesive.
