Several disclaimers before I share:
1) I'm in no way affiliated with Discount Tire and not sure if they're a forum sponsor or not, but want to call out what I think was a good deal.
2) Not interested in debating the 15" tire vs others here, it's been beaten to death. I personally chose 15's for the look while on the street and 18's for track duty.
3) Also not looking to start a debate about 15" brand offerings. I think it's safe to say that 15's don't offer super high performance, but Mickey T's, BFG's, Cooper Cobra, and maybe 1 or 2 others offer mediocre street performance depending on use, temperature, engine HP, etc...
OK, on to the deal. Saw a post either here or the "other" site about a mail-in-rebate at Discount Tire. I happened to already have a set of Cooper Cobra's on order waiting to be installed. I ordered 235/60/15's for the front and 295/50/15's for the rear.
I'm in WI but ordered from a local IL shop. My quoted price "out the door" with installation on FFR Halibrands was $550. Already a pretty darn good price but then also received a $75 mail in rebate. All said and done, that's $475 mounted, balanced, and out the door for 4 rubbers.
I'm sure that price can be beat somewhere/somehow. But if anyone is interested in 15" Coopers, the purchase deadline is 2/18 to get the rebate. They also have rebates on other tires and sizes, I can only speak to what I purchased.
