I just completed doing my own rear alignment having the 2015 IRS. When I had installed the new Angled Mount Adapter covered in the 2015 IRS Tech Update, they recommended placing some red Loctite on the threads where the 1 5/8" jam nut would sit. As I planned on doing the alignment at a later date (which I just completed) I held off applying Loctite at that time. I'm not certain I should do it yet as any possible future adjustment may be difficult. Any suggestions?

I used blue on mine. I have no background experience to be able to definitively say that is a good practice so take it for what it is worth.

I'm personally not a fan or red Loctite unless you basically consider it permanent. I've only done a preliminary alignment myself as well, so haven't applied any Loctite yet. When I do, it will be of the blue variety. That plus a good torque on the nuts (they're big so can take plenty) I can't believe they would go anywhere.

From our experience in testing I highly recommend using the red, they will back off otherwise even with the jam nuts tight. If you want to test some alignment setting first until you find where you like best then you can use the blue, but the final time I wouldn't use anything but red.

Thanks for the response Jim! I will follow your advice.

Where do I find this Tech Update. I don't see it on the FFR web site. What jam nut are you guys talking about? The camber adjuster?

Craig,

Its the jam nuts on the outer end of the upper control arm, 2015 and up IRS.

Jeez, not what I wanted to hear. I wondered about the minimal wall thickness of the outer end of that tube where the adjuster threads into.
