Is there a better alternative for the E-Brake then what Factory five has? Just looking for different ideas.

Here's a dash mounted design we are working on. Not commercially available, but all the details are there if you're shopping ideas.

What are you looking for? What for you would make it better? Probably the most common mod is putting it on top of the transmission tunnel vs. on the side.

I was just looking for different ideas on location. And also different brand ones. If an after market makes better use of the design for these cars?

Better is a pretty subjective term. What's better for some may not be for others. Some guys don't like the stock location because they can't reach it while belted in, or feel like it gets in the way of the passenger. I don't have any issue reaching it, although it's a bit of a stretch and wouldn't use it while driving because I have to duck down a bit. I've used the Mustang handle a couple times and it works OK. For the current build I used the newer Factory Five designed handle, and it works OK too. All in the stock location. They work fine as far as I'm concerned. I'm not shy to change things, but haven't felt the need for the e-brake.
Using a Lokar handle on the top of the tunnel is probably the most common change that people make if they want to move it. I've seen in some older threads where guys were mounting a Fiero handle between the DS seat and door. Haven't seen that one for a long time. I've also seen a couple of E-Stopp electric setups installed. Interesting, and something that's becoming more commonplace on DD's. But not a cheap option. The dash mount mentioned earlier in this thread is something new. Haven't seen that before.

Ah! That's my goal! :-)

As edwardb said unless you are opposed to the tunnel side location (which is where they were on the original cars) there is no real need to change---it will work fine. That said I have built a couple of cars using a Mustang handle relocated to the top of the tunnel forward of and to the left of the shifter:

It was a subjective question.. I was just trying to see if anyone has stepped outside of the "box". I do like that dash mount idea.

One not mentioned is on the drivers left on the floor next to the door sill.
I kind of wanted mine to be....well.....where Cobras had them. So I stayed stock. Works fine, lasts a long time.
