Winner, winner chicken dinner! Very good Bob! My friend is owner/founder at Stafford and when i approached him looking for a unique shaft collar solution for retaining my harness belts, he produced these. I have seen shaft collars used for this purpose before, but never a set of clamp on retainers like these. I am impressed with them!

That was my assumption.....I have never used harnesses before! If they only wrap around the bar, I guess they can slide. The seat would prevent them from sliding (belts pass through holes in the seat) and friction tape would probably work too, but I have seen shaft collars used by others. I was pleasantly surprised when he offered to turn out a custom solution. Essentially these are a pair of shaft collars that have been joined.

It worked out well for me, as at each end of the harness bar it tapers down where it was swaged for the thread forming. I would have had to have 2 different size shaft collars had these not been made, or else move my harnesses inboard a bit, which probably would have been fine.

I like how they look, they add some functionality, and (most important) they match my shifter knob!

Do a google search for "harness bar shaft collars". You will see lots of pictures of various installs. I have not seen roll bar padding used, but I have next to zero experience. I will search it as well, thx.
