I just finished registering for the 2017 Ohio Cobra Club show in London Ohio. I attended the show for the first time last year after a 3 day 3,700 kilometer marathon road trip. My timing prevented me from partaking in any of the Friday activities but it was such a blast making new friends and meeting old acquaintances that I vowed to return in 2017. Oh yeah....Giving a dozen adrenaline filled charity rides also ranked up there as one of the highlights. This year, the trip will be considerably shorter. A mere 1,000 kilometres. I've never had the chance to auto cross and I am considering taking it in this year. So just a few questions so I can plan and pack (cause we all know how much room there is in the trunk, especially when you carrying one of this premium tops).
1. Do I need any personal safety equipment other than a helmet?
2. Are there any limitations on the type of helmet?
3. Are there any technical requirements the cars need to meet?
4. What are the costs involved for the day?

Looking forward to June
Dave

Unless the Ohio Cobra Club or Buckeye Miata Club who actually organizes the event for them have changed things:

1. No
2. Snell M2005 or SA2005 or later (2010, 2015). I think they may have a few loaners available.
3. Usual safety items; tight wheels, firm brake pedal, secure battery, 2 positive throttle return springs, loose items removed from the cockpit.
4. No additional cost.

See you there!

Just as Jeff said. Head on out and find what you and your car can do TOGETHER! You'll have a great time and learn plenty!
