Hey Gang,

I came across this engine that is being produced for/by Mercury Racing.

http://mercuryracing.com/automotive/

It is LS based engine that will be offered to the public for automotive applications as well.

The 9 liter with turbos/super charger looks interesting as well.

Very nice but I'm sure the price would make you cringe. I wish I could afford that engine. Then again I guess it's all relative, probably still cheaper than an NRE twin turbo.

That engine is ~30K. They had both at SEMA in 2015. They have plenty of Chevrolet experience. I believe Mercury was contracted to build the C4 ZR1 motors. At the time they had experience building aluminum block motors that GM was struggling with so they were contracted to build and supply the engines.

IMO it would not. With so much power available so cheaply with the current LS, what would be to point of adding those comparatively huge heads into an already tight engine bay? Not only that, but they add a lot of weight up high as compared to a pushrod motor.

But It Would Be Purrrrrrrrdy Sitting Between The Frame Rails If It Fit!

The New Ford 5.2 Crate motor is available without the flat plane crank, it is rated at 580 hp. for a lot less money and it's proven! My next project will be a Gen 3 coupe with that engine.

Long live the pushrod! That's why my new bike has this motor.

I just checked out that company's website and this bike is really unique.
While I'm not a sport touring guy, I appreciate all motorcycles, especially those that aren't run of the mill.
Sorry about the Falcon loss last weekend because I always pull for them except when they are playing the Saints!

That's OK. Except for a brief moment in 1995, Atlanta has been on a losing streak since Sherman.

WOW!! Revs to 8000, 775HP and still naturally aspirated. That is just stupid crazy power, which means I LIKE IT!! Not in a Roadster, but it would fit nicely in the spacious Jeep engine compartment or something similar. Unless you've got all-wheel or 4 wheel drive, it'll be hard getting that power to the ground in anything but a fully race-prepped vehicle. It would be fun trying though.
