Montana "summers" are short and sweet, so I decided not to waste any of it doing paint and body work. I'll put that off for the long winter instead.
It took almost 7 weeks to get my stupid paperwork completed and through the state system, primarily because of someone's laziness at the local office here. She sent me away saying that I had to send my stuff into the state directly and couldn't do it locally. This wasn't true, but it took me about 70 emails and phone calls to figure that out, and a remailing of my original paperwork, MCO, etc.
Got my title and temp tags yesterday though, and ordered my personalized plate. The really nice thing about Montana, is if the vehicle is more than 10 years old (in this case, this will get registered as a 1965 Cobra,) you can do permanent registration. I paid for 3 years of fees, and I never have to mess with tags again.
I took it to town (8 miles in) last night and got the speedo all calibrated...awesome stuff! At the gas station, which I know you guys see all the time, despite the huge RIVETS holding the trunk lid to the hidden mount..."is it a real one?"
I'm hoping to get it dyno'd and all dialed in next week from a timing and carb standpoint, it's not quite there right now. Still as fun as hell though.
Pics from Two Months Ago (nothing fancy of course:)
