Looking to buy alum spats for a mk 4...Thx Darc
Have fun finding them. I thought I had bought the last set avaiable anywhere then a set popped up on the other forum for sale the other day but I think they sold.

Thx ....I know i was right there and had them ...just wasn't sure if they would fit as there were for a mk3 and i have a mk4........factory five confirmed they would fit ....but i was to late .....i should have just grabbed them .....let me know if you hear of any Thx Darc

233923402341My car came with them and to be honest I didn't care for them. On the right color maybe but I prefer the clear set. They didn't seem to fit just right. There's a fine line between cool and functional and too much on these cars. This is pic before, after removal and then after all the white stuff came off the car.

I had a set on my Mk3 but they would not fit on my Mk4 so I sold them. Oh I could have rigged them to fit but by the time I took off enough inside metal to fit tight there would have been a good sized gap which would defeat their purpose. If you find a set make sure they fit.

Lex - those look good. I have a set of the aluminum spats made by Brian Alvarez on the other site and they'll be going on my JohnO clone.

Ever since I saw a set of aluminum spats on the FFR build that "ACE" did years ago, I have loved the look of those things (and what a sad day it was when that car was totaled by the way). To me, Lex's car is probably the closest look to that build and is damn near perfect in my opinion. :cool:
Still plan on using a set of those spats on my build as well.
