We have applied some functional updates to the forum, and will continue to do more over the next few days.

Some of these are general forum improvements. We are also doing some custom programming to bring new specific features to the forum as well.

The visible items of improvement include:

Edit Box Changes. The edit boxes used to enter text for new threads and replies are re-skinned and have enhanced functionality. DONE
New menu link to picture albums and galleries. The albums already exist, but are hard to find! They will be directly accessible from the top level button bar.DONE
POM Widgets. I'm creating POM widgets for every car model as well as well as an overall POM widget for the front page.DONE
We are installing a forms plugin and will be experimenting with using them for Graduations, the Registry and POM submissions. DONE
Graduation threads. We are planning stickied threads for each model and an all-inclusive one in this General Discussion forum.
New smilies. ;)

We will continue to strive to bring you additional enhancements as we think of them or they become available. I know Dave Smith has a slew of cool things coming soon as well, but I'll let him or someone else from FFR articulate those in detail.

I hope you like the continued enhancements we are bringing to thefactoryfiveforum.com, and welcome your comments and feedback!

David, am I the only one who is seeing that gallery tab stepping onto of the new posts tab? It looks like the Wiki tab is in that same space as well.

Scott,

What OS and browser are you running? Can you get me a screen shot? It's working fine for me; I Run XP and Win7, IE 7 and 9, and Firefox...

David, I think I can do that, this is the office machine, so its IE 7, and XP.

Scott, got your email, thanks.

Yes, there appears to be an issue with IE 7 that i was able to replicate. I'll look into it today.

How come NOBODY has noticed the new POM widgets? I guess no one visits the Wiki/Articles/Recent post pages. They are accessed by clicking on one of the FFR model links near the top of the home page. There will also be one on the home page for the monthly overall winner. Perhaps I'll include links to the other POMs on that main one too...

I just got done installing our new forms componant and will be building new POM, Graduation and Registry forms tonight! Look for these to go live in next day or so.

:)

Sorry David, haven't visited the wiki's much, but will take a look.

I did just notice something a little odd, the drop downs at the top menu bar community, forum actions, quick links, when they drop down they drop behind the banner ad that is there so you can't really see most of the options. Might just be an IE 7 thing, but thought I would mention it.

Yes, I noticed that with Wayne's VeryCoolParts ad, which is the only one in flash. Does it happen for you with every ad?

Hate to say it, but if I were you I'd move to IE8...

I've loaded up all the submission forms for POM, and put the Overall POM widget on the Home page. Let me know what you think.

David, unless you made a change then it looks like maybe it was just Wayne's ad. I have Jeff's up there now and it is fine.

As for upgrading the browser, if it were up to me I would ;-). We are doing more and more webbi apps though so hopefully they will upgrade soon.
