I have had it for seven years and worked on it on and off until I got frustrated and put out a post asking for help. Frank Mazlowski, from ie427, answered my post and I brought my car to him. He looked at it and decided it needed more than I thought it did. It turns out it did. Frank did such outstanding work. He modified things that just turned out to be way beyond what I could have imagined. He was so precise in everything he did from putting a 12 v receptacle to modifying the wall behind the seats into a storage shelf that looks just great. If anybody is looking for some help, get hold of Frank at ie427 he's a great guy and outstanding fabricator.632186321963220632216322263223632246322 5

Thanks for the nice compliments. The car is a MkI with lots of upgrades. Jeff Miller painted it guardsman blue, 302,with c3 hiport heads from Robert Yates, irs, custom headers from Scotty's muffler in S.B. I am thrilled to own it. Thanks again Frank

Nice car, as of right now it is my color to be.

Your cubby behind the seats. It looks like the trunk wall is up against the roll bars. Do you like it there and is the shelf there functional?

If you've got any more pictures of that area could you post a few more pictures?

Thanks, George

Thanks for the nice words. The shelf is about seven inches deep and goes across the entire width of the back. I had to be talked into doing it, but am very glad I did. Very convenient if you don't have a glove box. I will take some photos and post

I just want to pass on what a pleasure it was working with Tracy. Our goal from the start of his build was to give him a car that was first and foremost, safe and reliable. The bones of the car were good when we got it. There were just some things that needed some messaging. And although we may have "nudged" Tracy a few times to go in a direction he hadn't considered previously, we knew the end product was something he would thoroughly enjoy and be proud to own. Below are a few of the couple hundred photos we took of his project while it was under construction.

Here is a closer picture of the rear package tray we fabricated.

We did take some liberties without asking, the leather covering for the tunnel was one of those. It is removable, as is the .090 aluminum tunnel top under it to ease with transmission work in the future.

The entire interior was carpeted by D&S upholstery in Upland. The dark gray carpet and black edging was picked out by Tracy and his wife Carol. It came out far better than Tracy had imagined and I think I can speak for him and say that Sergio out-did himself on this one.

Lokar e-brake handle and boot installed in custom fabricated frame mounts.

We also fabricated the custom horn button in the steering wheel. We used all off the shelf parts from Grant and fabricated a base for the horn button to attach it to the steering wheel, along with a custom made commutator wheel and spring pin to make it all work.

All custom fabricated nose aluminum hide the quick jack mounts/hardware and we installed a non-funtional
oil cooler and lines that end just inside the fender wells.

A few more pictures of the finished car inside the shop. Tracy had hand polished the block off plates for the passenger side roll bar. All we had to do was the final install.

We wanted to give the wheels the look of vintage pin drive wheels so we drilled the spinners for safety wire and used a small piece of plastic tubing to protect the wheels from scratches.

And finally a couple pictures of the car outside in the sunlight for the first time since it rolled in.
