So I got to test drive a Cobra today and it confirmed my expectations. I am buying mine this year before I deploy you Afghanistan. What a thrill.

What does the Rd stand for on the 6279 rd vin?
It had the dropped floor and was perfect for my 6' 2" height. Could of made more knee room if needed. I am so excited to order one of these dream machines.

I find it strange it has a FL Assigned VIN decal when Florida has adopted the SEMA replica titling laws to allow the use of the FFR number for titling purposes. Apparently the original buyer/builder either wasn't aware of said laws to pursue them, or the DMV office they went to didn't know/understand the laws (or possibly a little bit of both).

Texas Aviator,
I too was hooked after getting the chance to drive a Low-End Doner MK-3 and about a year later an Over The Top Complete Kit MK-4.
The owner of the MK-4 suggested that I build my own since his car was out of my financial reach so about 6 months later I ordered my kit.
The standard set by that MK-4 build has helped me really pay attention to the details of my Chevy Powered MK-4.
Order that kit and build your dream car.
Thank You For Your Service!
Steve

How old do you think this car is?

How old do you think this car is?
Not sure, but my Chassis number is #8,515 which was ordered on November 10th, 2014 and delivered on January 27th, 2015.
I'm guessing it's one of the last MK-3's so 2007-2008 maybe?
It is likely a doner build if it lacks the coil overs and has the Mustang Pedal box.
Just Guessing!

How old do you think this car is?
I bet if you call Factory Five they could tell you based on the chassis number

It's Before This Video Was Produced In February Of 2010:
https://youtu.be/6ckgfkPU8Ss
I've got the first Mk4 to leave FFR on March 5, 2010.
From my notes:
FFR Chassis Numbers
I think it is going to be hard to figure this out here as I believe their chassis numbering system may include other types of kits.
Jorge - 7187 - earliest chassis number I know of besides Dave Smith's car which we have considered a prototype as it was not built on the jigs
GWL (me) - 7197 - 1st chassis to leave FFR March 5, 2010. Jorge's was being loaded onto the Stuart truck as I was picking up mine. FFR had delayed my pickup by at least a week because of aluminum fitting problems they were having.
otis - 7199 - I believe his car was on the Stuart Transporter with Jorge's
HIRISC - 7201
FFR continued to sell some Mk3.1's at the same time the 4's were being sold.
Just looked up some FFR history:
November 1995: Production Begins
Factory Five ships its first production kit, the Mk1 Roadster Cobra Replica.
November 1996: 100th Mk1 Kit Shipped
May 2002: New Model, Mk2 Version Roadster
February 2004: FFR Ships 4,000th Roadster!
August 2004: New Model, Mk3 Version Roadster
March 2007: Factory Five Ships 6,000th Roadster.
March 2010: New Model, Mk4 Version Roadster Launched
I'm not sure when the Mk3.1 started shipping but found this number for one: MK 3.1 Factory Five Roadster (chassis #6445).

NOTE: The last one is really the best from a construction perspective, but the gel-coat goes of first in the molding process.

1. Get The Manual If You Don't Already Have It!
2. Read it when you are bored, then read it again, and once more just for fun.
3. I must have read it 4-6 times at my son's swim meet before I ordered my kit.
4. It has made the build so much easier.

I have a copy of the 3.1 from someone on here. I already have all the donor parts from the 90 mustang I parted out. I have the pedal box, t5z, 8.8 lsd 3.73 31 spline diff, 13 inch brakes and booster as well as an efi 347 I built in my garage. Been through that build book a couple times already. I am going to buy the mk4 materials soon. FFR sent me the brochure and DVD and I have already started a build book with all my receipts and parts info.

My late Mk3.1, which I picked up at FFR in early October 2009, is chassis 7074. I'd think that this one is right around the time frame of the switch from Mk3 to Mk3.1. FFR should be able to tell you which it is.
I didn't drive my first FFR until the day I go-karted my kit and it was everything I expected. Amazing how the experience gets better and better the longer you own the car and the more miles you put on it.

I built #6228 which was only 51 before the #6279. I received the kit on 7/11/2007 from Stewart so the build date must have been about 7/1/07. It was a Mk3 and I think the Mk3.1 was at least 6 months later so I'm pretty sure #6279 was a Mk3. Like Chris, the first FFR I sat in was my go-kart. Building, driving and upgrading were all a blast and when there was no more to do I sold it with 9,000 miles. Now I'm building an 818C and it's #25 so I'm enjoying being a pioneer. These things are addictive!

I built my Mk 3.1 Roadster, FFR 6760, which I picked up in Wareham in September of 2008.
