I called earlier today to order my engine. Its a 351W from tristar performance. They have a few options to choose from in regards to the oil pan. What I'm concerned about is the depth. All of the options that they list are 8" deep. If i give them a part number they will order and install that pan. I'm just not sure what pan you guys have been running. I know Gordon, Mike, and a few others offer pans but the engine is being built by someone other than myself. Thanks for any info that you can shoot my way.

This is a Canton 15-690 on a 351W. It's 7.5" deep. Once installed it sits flush with the bottom of the frame rails. I also needed a Canton 15-691 pickup tube to go with, but there are a number of factors (girdle, oil pump size, etc) that influence what will be required in your specific case. Pan fit well and is leak-free. I like.

My 408 is from Tristar also. I am pleased with everything I got from them. They delivered everything on time too. Which 351 did you order?

I went with the complete 351w 400hp/430 ft lbs with the procomp heads.. I was hesitant about going with "tristar alluminum heads" but when I called they didn't hide the fact that they were pro comps. They get them bare and clean up the machining on them which is the only way anyone I know and respect would use them. I requested a canton oil pan to fit within the frame rails. They have been good to deal with thus far.
