Any suggested retailers for Billboards? (anybody in canada)

What sizes are recommended for a FFR on 15x9 rears?

Roger Kraus Racing near San Francisco is the only source. They have specific sizes solely for the Halibrands

Bought mine from Goodyear Continental East. They are next door to Michigan International Speedway. Not sure where you are in Canada but I would call that about ninety minutes drive time from the Ambassador Bridge.

Not so. Vintage Wheels also sell them:

Ok, but clearly they're not the only source.

i have them on my FFR. but with the donor car power steering i do not like how it tracks.
would it make more sence to switch to manual steering for better steering wheel feel?

I got the tires, my question now is; will manual steering make it better? (the donor power steering is a handful with bias plys)

No, should be no improvement with manual steering, should actually be worse. With manual steering you’ll need to decrease caster angle to reduce your steering effort which will also give the tires a bit more say at speed. Bias-ply tires simply don’t offer as “nice” a driving experience as radials. For racing, bias-ply tires have advantages (probably the biggest is the availability of 15” sizes). But for ease of driving, a good set of sticky radials is hard to beat.

Most folks like the look of Billboards, but not the street performance. I totally get that. I also love the look of a 15" Billboard, but would not put them on a street snake sled.

One option is the "Diamond Back III Blackwall Smoothy" of a BFG Radial T/A sold by dbtires.com. Then add your Billboard stickers.

All but the geekiest of tire geek geekoids would know the difference, like a stroked 390 FE block with fake crossbolts pretending to be a side-oiler.

I thought I'd bring this post back up rather than starting a new one. Does anyone know if the Jegs billboards require tubes for sure? It is listed on the website that it does however, I've read elsewhere where you don't have to have tubes to run them.

Expertise would be appreciated!

I have “billboards” on my Daytona right now and they do not have tubes in them. I don’t know what Jegs would do differently that would necessitate tubes. They are Goodyears, right?

They are. I had read that you didn't need the tubes but wanted to verify, here is the tire:

The ones I removed from my car did not have tubes either. I've got a set if you want to try them for looks would sell for $100 each plus shipping. I can wrap them in shirnkwrap and probably ship for $30-40 each. I personally didn't think the ride was bad or the tramlining. But there is basically no side wall support its like riding on balloons. YMMV

What are the sizes that you have? The rear ones are in stock the front (9") are on backorder so if they are the ones for the front I'll take them.

I did see on your album that it looks like you have them blacked out, is that correct?

FYI, I also have street tires that I'll be using but for car shows, etc. I plan on the billboards.

I'm not sure there are more than the 2 sizes, ie front and rear. Mine are not blacked out just dirty I think that was the thing back in the day. They could possibly be cleaned up to look better haven't gotten around to it yet. You could repaint the lettering back on with stencils. Sorry not willing to sell just the fronts, would want to sell the entire set.

PM me if interested I can try to clean them up and shoot you some photos.
