Exhaust heat shields

Question,

I see they have 29" and 36" exhaust shields, what size is the right size? Also they have it in chrome and ceramic. What is the benefit of one over the other or is it just an appearance preference?

mine in the photo are ceramic like my pipes. you can use any one you want IMO.
