Has anyone done custom touches to their roadsters? Looking at a bunch of build threads they are all great and I can't wait ti build one. Some things I am wondering is if anyone has done different headlights, less, hid's etc? same for tail lights or other small touches? I know to some it might be going away from the heritage but I think drenched headlights would look cool. If you have I'd love to see em and get ideas, thanks!

Mine is nothing but custom.

There has been a few that leaned away from the heritage looks of the roadster. One fellow took a sawzall to his body, and changed almost everything. I have never seen the car finished, so I'm not sure if it got away on him or what happened. It's a risk to change things to much.
Some have added custom made hood scoops, various taillights, and other custom features, such as with the dash, and interior, custom paint jobs, etc.

I think the original look of the roadster is what attracted builders to them in the first place. There are other kit cars, if they wanted something exotic looking.

Just about anything is possible, and most everything has been tried. HID headlights have been done, although I think the trend now is toward LED's. I've seen several posts with highly modified headlight and taillight hardware. Some offering the parts to sell. Can't say they've made a big hit. There were some builds at last year's London Cobra Show (not FFR's) that had modern LED headlights with a ring of indicators around them and I think they were frenched. Was maybe a little cool especially since they had modern and very bright paint jobs. I personally still prefer the vintage 60's look of the cars. But make it your own. That's what's fun about building your own.

Here is an example of a roadster with some custom touches. This guy has some real talent but deviation are not always well received.

I say build it how you dream it.

Yes I am also a fan of LED lights and my build will have them. I have always loved the look of frenched lights so I might have to learn some body work! When looking over other builds I see stuff I like and stuff I don't. that is the joy of these, can make them how you want. I want to keep the vintage look but with modern touches that help more then what is "cool".

I'm sure over the course of the next few years you all will help me spend the money where it needs!
