I think some of your spacers are in the wrong spots most of the spacers are really tight almost hard to get to fit in. Some gap is okay buy I think you might need to measure your spacers make sure they are what the directions call for.

^This, take a caliper and measure them all, then separate into a nut/bolt grid container by size.

I spent a lot of time sanding down the spacers so they would fit, I would have to believe that as a whole there should not be so much gap. I bought two of the HF gauges (cheap) and sorted out the spacers by size.
