So I sanded with 1000 / 1500 and 2000. Using 3m perfect it, after buffing with step one, I have parts that look cloudy ? Maybe I need to sand some more or more compound ? Suggestion \s appreciated

3m Perfect it w/ wool pad. It will be a little cloudy and that's correct. Switch to a polishing compound with a foam pad next. That will take it to a mirror shine.

I used 3m Perfect-it. 3 different compounds with a different matching pad for each. When you move to compound 2, you will be surprised how much better it gets. 3 takes out any swirls and makes it perfect.

If something doesn't come up with 2, go back to 1. It is best to ne be overly aggressive.

It gets tricky. Wool is the fastest cut and cuts much cooler then foam. You have two things to fear 1.cut and B. heat. With either type of pad you need to be mindful that the compound does the work, the pad just moves it around. Extra pressure on the pad will not cut faster only give you nasty swirls. If the compound gets to heavy on the pad or starts getting dry ,,,your pad turns into a grinding disc,,,,to wet, it just loads up and makes a mess. Learning the happy medium just takes time.......now, as far as "One Step" Great product.....but not for you, sorry, It is designed to go from a compound to a polish while you're buffing. This works ok-good in production when you are just doing one panel....but you're doing a whole car and to have it break down leaves your pad loaded with broken down compound trying to do a fresh cut. If you bought a gallon you can still get results. You will need to clean your pad after every panel and use fresh compound.....now, if you only bought a quart,,, you're buffing too dry. I go through 1/3 gallon of compound and 1/5 gallon of polish on every car. Wool on the "cut" foam on the "polish"...da Bat
