I am not very far along on my build, but it has been worth every moment so far. I have been surprised by the silly choices I have needed to make so far. Stuff like "leather or wood steering wheel, do I paint this or powder coat, should this be black or grey." These are choices that wake me at night in a panic. One that I answered today was "do I put the included Factory Five badge on the front of the finished car?" This was answered for me at work . I was overtaken with satisfaction and pride with my mk4 kit. For twenty years I have watched this line become better. I am amazed that I have one currently (finally) in my garage. I am so proud of the mk4, I will not allow my kids to call it a cobra. I have too much respect for what "mk4" means. I love that solar panels were installed at factory five. I love this year's upgrade to LED lights. Everyone I have spoken with at Factory Five has been amazing. In short I am proud to be part of the Factory Five family. Of course the car needs a Factory Five badge on the front.

I feel exactly the same way! I actually hate it when folks ask about the "Cobra Replica". I never call it a Cobra. I always call it the roadster, and I fully intend to use the Factory Five badges. :)

I agree, I was really into Fox body 5.0s and since the early 90s - wanted to build a Cobra kit car. I wrote to numerous companies over the years and when FFR was born, was excited about transplanting a 5.0's running gear. After receiving my kit, I deliberated over a 427 (which my wife wanted, since that's what the original had) and a Coyote 5.0. I had a good knowledge of souping up pushrod 5.0s and wanted to build one that had the ultimate go fast parts derived from my years of tinkering with them. I have not tried to replicate any originality with my build; it's how I wanted and I have spent more than I should have or anticipated. In loose terms, family and friends refer to it as a Cobra - but I always preface the moniker with Factory Five Racing. However, I do have a deep appreciation and respect for those that fastidiously craft theirs as original as can be done with the FFR Kit.

For the longest time, it was referred to on this site and the other one as "the C word." But, I noticed in a recent video from this year's SEMA event, Dave Smith himself referred to the roadster as a "Cobra."
Just sayin'.....

I noticed that also. I guess all the litigation issues ended when Shelby passed away.
