I believe many/most people use the '97 and earlier gas tank since it's quite inexpensive, readily available, and flexible enough to accept carbed vs efi senders, etc... Has anyone used the '98 and newer tank which accepts a much different sending unit? I believe the '98 sending unit has an integral sump that the return line dumps into, while the '99+ sending unit is returnless.
If you've used the '98+ tank, what did you do for the following items?
1) Can you use the older style fuel filler neck and tank gasket?
2) Is the venting system identical to the older style where it's a bit small and sometimes causes hassles when filling? Potential use of the Breeze Big Bore Vent?
3) I have to assume the straps are the same regardless of pre or post-'98, as are the plastic fuel cover/shield.
