Hey everyone,

My father and I just took the roadster out for the first time yesterday. While in second, we noticed multiple times that the stick moved itself and slipped into neutral. This is a new tremec 600 transmission. The stick is mounted on the standard port (rear), so the stick is angled forward.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Jason

See if the shift boot is putting pressure on the shifter.

As Gordon said I have heard the rubber shift boot that comes in the kit causes this sometimes. Do you have the boot installed?

Yep! That's the first place to look.

It seems to be a common issue. Mine was doing that a lot in 4th, which you would think the boot would help hold it in. I am approaching 10K miles and it doesn't seem to happen any more.

In my case, not only was the boot putting pressure on the stick, but the stick interfered with the tunnel cover. A slight modification to the mounting holes in the stick took care of the issue. The stick is just slightly more upright, but I plan to shorten it anyway!

I always use a Lokar leather shift boot instead of the FFR supplied one. Never had any problems.
