As the title says I can't figure out what the bracket is for. I have both the complete and basic manuals.
I have followed almost all builds and have not seen the bracket mentioned. It has two holes as if it
were for the parking brake cables but I also have the bracket that is by the pinon.

Since I am using an auto trans I have to remove the existing parking brake bracket and plan to use
a C4 Corvette parking brake lever, similar to the Fiero and same location, I would like to know if I
can remove the little bracket.

Thanks for any and all responses.

Yes, they are for securing the 94-up e-brake forward cable sheath ends in conjunction with 94-up e-brake assembly. The rear bracket is supposed to be for the 87-93 e-brake rear cable sheath ends (they don't work with 94-up type). I'm sure you can cut them off.

Thank you for the reply. I think this is the first time I have seen the cables attached this way.
Looks like I have some sparks to make this weekend.
