What kind of gas mileage are the guys with carburetors getting?

My 347 with a Holley 650 double pumper (71 jets) gets around upper teens. Suburban streets net around 15 or so and open country roads (I don't drive on interstates much with it) return around 18 or so.

I'm using a stock T5Z five speed from a '94 SVT Cobra and 3.27 rear gears. I only use 5th out in the country at 60 mph and above.

To be honest I don't think about it.

I got 10 MPG with my first roadster fitted with a 503 BB. Less if I put my foot into it

I just completed a 700 mile round trip and got 20.4 mpg. I have a Roush 331 with a 770 Holley, T-5 trans. 3.73 rear and 15 inch tires.

I think I'm getting around 9 with my 390 Fe but I didn't get on an open road and only in 4th once

To be honest I don't think about it.

I do occasional long day-trips (300 - 450 miles) and much of that is out in the middle of nowhere, so knowing how far I can go on a tank (or the remaining splash in the tank) is a good thing.

Donnie,

Some guys have two left feet so it makes dancing difficult.
In your case you have two right feet so your gas mileage will not improve until you let your lovely better half do the driving.

Lol, godadgo. You have been in the beast so you know. They had a guy in a 500 with a ft 390 try to run me Friday night. I blew his doors off. I now know how fast my car is!!!

347 with 500hp. 11 - 12mpg. I never officially checked, but I sure do start sweating when my trip odometer hits 160 miles.

I guess I’m the only person getting gas millage in the low to mid 20’s. (around town driving I get 22 miles per gallon Highway about 25)
I’m running a 302 with a 650 double pumper and the ford racing E cam. The other week I installed the Ford racing aluminum heads and the gas gauge moves about the same.
I’ll recheck the millage next summer with the new heads but, it looks to be the same but I do have more power.

I have only driven one tank of gas, but I did get 15.93 MPG with my 302 with heads. I should get better millage once I start taking trips or driving with less vigor. I also live off of a rural, twisty road with a 2,000 foot elevation climb. I should have my teeth whiten from my permasmile.

I have an Andriod phone and use the app aCar to track all of my expenses. I like to know exactly how my car is running and costing me. (This is not for everyone)
