I couldn't get the hood to fit in a way I was happy with in the back. So I cut 1/2" from the center of the hood to narrow that end. It totally worked to give me a great fit. However, it buckles up the middle of the hood into a slight peak. I planned to fix it at first, but it's beginning to grow on me. I may leave as is. Thoughts?

I like the idea of featuring it. How did you end up with red fenders and a white hood?

I ordered the new front end for my old kit (#101) and didn't specify a color. I figured they need body work and paint anyway so no worries.

how is the alignment at the leading edge of the hood and fenders? Looks good from the photos, I assume you had drivers side 1/2" longer fender.

As for the hood I would say to fix it!

Alignment is good all the way around now. My hood sat in the garage rafters for nearly three years. Not sure if it flattened in that time or what. It didn't fit well at all in the back. This fix did the trick. Just need to decide on whether to blend the peak in or let it be. Thank you for giving your thoughts on that.

Did you shorten 1/2" off of the hood?

Frank, I took a 1/2" pie slice out of the center of the hood from the top down between the hood vents. You can see the cutout section in the first picture. I then used a couple zip ties in the adjacent holes to pull the pie shaped gap closed and epoxied it. The rest of the pictures are after being epoxied together.

Looks good - I'd feature it. That is the kind thing that I like about these cars/kits - you can make them your own and really emphasize the "one off" aspect.

For those who want to hide it, there's an easier way. I took my pie slice off the right side, where the area is relatively flat.

You can use stir sticks and hot glue to hold the pieces in alignment until your underside 'glass work cures.
The resulting interface requires almost no effort to fill and level.

I'd say feature it if it matches or highlights the crease in the fenders.
