So I cut the front "wings" off my engine cover since I had to slot it out to accommodate the larger roll bar I added.

I am trying to figure out how I want to secure the engine cover and the two orphaned "wings" that used to be part of the front of the engine cover. The front of the wings is secured with a bolt on the side, but I need to secure the backs. I also need to secure the sides of the engine cover right where it meets the wings.

The wings don't need to be easily removable, but whatever I use to secure the engine cover does. The engine cover has a quick-latch in the front-middle that holds it down but the sides flap up in the wind. I did buy two more quik-latches for the sides of the cover but I really don't want to deal with three quik latches on that panel if I don't have to.

Anyone have any ideas?

So I took some 3/8 thick wood and used fiberglass to bond it to the underside of the main rear deck lid so the it fits under the short piece you cut off, its been track tested.

I cut similar to yours and fiberglassed the wings to the body. I made some brackets that bolt the sides of the humps to one of the square tube steel braces with wing nuts.

Thanks for the ideas. Tony, I like your idea but my rear engine cover is hinged from the back so needs to be able to come up and out.

To hold my front flap in the rear I welded a NASCAR body tab to frame, I could have done the same for rear part and used a quick latch or pin
