I'm using a 4.6 4v with the T45 tranny. mounted the tranny using my mustang tranny mount. the driveshaft is at a pretty steep downward angle and it is binding up. Anyone have a solution, thanks

We had to modify our donor mount, shortening it about 3/4", to make it work for a tremec 3650.
The FFR donor manual shows how to do this.
Did you get a parts group called '4.6l donor installation components - box 16'? They should have supplied you with a tranny mount adaptor (welded L bracket) FFR part #13969 to use in the modification of your oem tranny mount.

I don't know if I got that, I'll check when I get home. Do you have a pic of it.

Hard to see it and take good pic from under the car, so here is a pic from the Donor Manual. The adapter is a piece of square tubing welded to a piece of plate to form a 'L' shape.

The quote from the donor manual is:
PAGE 234
99-04 Transmission mount adapter (FFR# 13969)
If using a 99-04 engine, the Transmission mount adapter bracket provided in the kit must be used when
using the stock transmission mount. Drill the rivets out of the stock mount.
Locate the stock mount on the adapter so that the bottom edge of the mount is 9/16”" from the adapter
plate. Mark the hole locations. Drill 5/16” holes for the bolts.

ok I think I do have the adapter but I have a 1996 mustang mount and T45 Tranny I can't see anyway I could attach that to my tranny mount.

The problem is that aftermarket mounts will mimic the oem mount height, and will also be too tall.

I'd consider modifying the oem mount (cut, grind, weld, etc) to get the top of the shifter's circular base flush with the top of the tunnel. This height should put the bottom of the tailshaft about 1.5" above the roadster's frame / crosstube, and make the driveshaft angle workable.
If the amount needed to lower the oem mount's height would put you cutting into the rubber, then time to call FFR tech helpline for options...

I recently had the T45 rebuilt for my 4.6L DOHC.....maybe these pics will help. I thought I took a pic of just the rubber mounted trans mount that bolts to the cross member, but I didn't .

Just use an 87-93 mustang trans mount. It will eliminate all that adapter mess and bolt directly to the trans and aframe.
The t5 and t45 have the same mount bolt pattern.

Once again the simple solution is the best solution ;)
