Are there any good tips for covering the Ebrake handle hole in the interior panel? Do you just use the boot or is there any other option for heat/sound/weather protection?

Thanks

I added felt underlayment to my interior before the carpet and just cut it fairly close to the e-brake assembly, then covered it with the boot. There is no boot on the underside of the car and it seems fine - no dust or heat intrusion.

Thanks. That brings me to another question. I am adding the adhesive backed heat shield to the entire interior. Do you normally just stick the carpet directly to that? You mentioned a felt underlayment. Why did you use that?

My tunnel has a heat shield inside it; used that to cover the hole. On the carpet don't know what others have done but mine is glued directly to the interior heat shield product

Some pics...

First, I covered all gaps with aluminum tape - heavy gauge and then applied Dynamat (you don't need much of that product on each panel - just enough to damp the sound)....

Then I installed the 3/8" felt underlayment with foil backing - used 3M spray adhesive to hold this down to the floor panels (note that I also covered the seams on this with aluminum tape - just a much lighter gauge for this)....

Then I glued the carpet down on top of the foil backing using the same 3M spray adhesive (a good trick is to spray a little black paint along the gaps between carpet pieces to avoid seeing anything shiny between the pieces).....
