Hi

My name is Chris, 40 years old and very interested in buying/building a MK4 Roadster.

As the restrictions over here in Europe are getting very hard, it's going very tricky to registrate a new build up.

Would love to have on my own a MK4 in blue with withe stripes, Coyote engine and 18" Hallibrands.

For the moment all this V8 sruff is very new for me as for the moment i'm still in the VW Rabbit scene ( please dont hit me ).

Thanks in advance for your help and greetings from Luxemburg

Chris

Welcome Chris!

Are there any other "home built" cars in your area? Maybe a club you can join?

I hope you find a path that allows you to build one of these cars. The are truly amazing.

Best of luck to you and once again, Welcome!

:)

Thx guys ;)

Cobra's are very rare here in the area but I have a friend who owns a replica Cobra ( not an FFR ) and it took him 3 years to get it registered.

To find the path is the smallest problem, David, what makes a build like this more difficult is that i dont have all the knowledge over here as you all, not as many shops to buy a few needed parts for the build, etc....here where i live you have a VW or BMW dealer all 10 miles :(
...and not to forget are the shipping quotes and import taxes to get the kit, engine, wheels, ... from the U.S. to my garage aaaand last but not least the registration: 9k - 11k $

The problem with the registration here is that if i buy a kit and would love to register it in 2016, or later, the car has to fulfill all the regulations like a modern car made in 2016 ( tire pressure warners, wipers, screen washing, daytime running lights, emissions, sound volume, seat belts, ...and so on )

I'll have to take out the calculator and have a look if it would be more interesting in ordering a kit or a complete car.

Lot of work to do !

Greetings
Chris
