Ive been working on the wiring for a few weeks and just got aux sensors done, changed fluids, did the coolant mod. Cant do much other electrical without connecting the battery and/or starting it. Is there anything I should be aware of? My plan of attack was to leave the rats nest out until i've verified everything functions correctly and then diet & check every once and a while for function. I guess what i'm asking is there any harness or points of ground i need to be aware of so i don't short or mess anything up. I don't have front lights done, as I believe the 2003 wrx i have did not have DRL. So I know i need at least 1 relay. I believe I may need more as I bought the dual aftermarket amazon LED's(amber/white) to replace the massive dim factory ones. It will require a relay so the white cuts out when the turn signals activates. should I just wire in a bosch style that I have or use some sort of factory non-used relay? If so whats the easiest one to utilize?

...kind of excited but scared for this milestone!

Only thing you really need to make sure you do is ground every point in the harness. A bad ground can cause any sort of awkward running action. If you see a ground, ground it some place good. If you don't really want to start making grounding spots or holes in the frame just yet, get things where you want it just clamp the ground to a cable and ground it to a spot that you know will be a ground location. For my test I ran everything to the engine ground area. This works for a good temp test!

If you can't find every ground check out the Subaru wiring diagrams for a map and then count make sure you get them all. The Real important grounds will be the grounds needed for you engine harness,Ignition relay, fuel pump relay, starter, and main relay. But to make things easy just ground out every ground wire you can see most ground points ground out more then 3 things.

I have a decent amount of the ground points in this thread if you need some details http://thefactoryfiveforum.com/showthread.php?21030-DIY-ODBII-working-standalone-wiring-harness

I wonder how many first start videos are actually the first start and not "take 2" or 3, lol.
