Is the Type 65 roll bar that I see in these cars (I assume they are part of the kit) NHRA legal roll bars? If not, how much does it take to make them NHRA legal? Do you have to remove them and start from scratch?

The cage will be accepted by the NHRA & IHRA, but it all depends on your E.T. & Top Speed.
You really need to get a current rule book to figure out what you will or won't need.
So the answer to your question is Yes & No; however, it all depends on how fast you go.

Well, according to the NHRA rulebook (the last time I looked), an approved 5 pt roll bar is required if the car is faster than 11.49 seconds and is good to 10.00 seconds. Any roll bar that doesn't meet their criteria to run faster than 11.49 seconds would be what I would call "not NHRA approved". So if you had a car that was faster than 11.49 seconds with one of these roll bars, would it pass inspection?
