With all the problems I have had getting these brakes to work properly, I learned it is impossible to adjust the cheap plastic swich supplied with the pedal assy. Junk is best description for this setup! Every minor change to pedal height neccisitates an adjustment. I'd love to see the ffr guys do this.
I finally gave up, ripped out the switch and replaced it with a pressure switch from summit racing. I tee'd it into the rear master cylinder so I could use the existing wires. If I was starting from scratch, I would probably put the tee down on the frame at a junction in the line.
Here is a picture of the completed switch:59518 I hope if clears the speedo, but if not I will change orientation somehow.
The parts I used are:
Edelmann "trailer brake tee" #12733 from Oreilly auto parts $8.75
Edelmann 3/16 inv flare - 1/8 npt fitting #361320 shopeddies.com $14.00
1/8 npt brass coupler local hardware store $2.20
Switch and harness summit racing.com sum-890002 $19.92
Total $44.87
Savings to me in labor, pain and suffering? Freakin' PRICELESS.
