View Full Version : Can I put 265's on FFR wheels and have them not rub in back?

Any chance? I have stock trailing arms. Read some opinions that they would be OK on the 18 x 8.5" FFR wheels.

8.5" wide rims are a bit on the thin side for 265 wide tires if you ask me. I'm running 18x9.5 out back with 255 wide tires and it's very close with the normal dimension trailing arms. There's about a 1/4" of gap to the trailing arm and about the same to the fender. I'm using 10 mm spacers.

I'm running Toyo 255-40/17 R888 on 9x17 30et rims.
No rubbing but no extra room either.
You can go with modified trailing arms and get more room on the inside.
You can flare fenders to get more room on outside.
Here is how it looks.

Just a note on the front if you are curious.
Toyo 235-40/17 R888 on 9x17 45et rims.
I' running a 40mm wider track width on the front to allow full lock to lock steering.

255/45-17 in front
285/30-18 in back
7mm spacers in front, 17mm in back.
Fitment is only a measure of your commitment to the tire size!
