I decided to plumb in a heater before I fill and bleed the coolant for first start. I bought this Heater Craft unit http://www.heatercraft.com/jeep-ducted-heater-with-under-dash-vent/
which fits pretty nicely up into center of dash. I powered it up with a power supply and was pleasantly surprised how much air it pushed.
Can be bought at JCWhitney for $272

I am thinking about trimming down and using the WRX dash with its integrated vent and defrost ducts. This unit sits right below the inlets for all the molded plastic ductwork. Could work out quite nice, but we'll see. I've got this crazy idea to cut 2" out of the middle of the WRX dash through the passenger airbag cover, allowing it to fit between the doors. Then plan to fill, sand, and black flock the entire dash. An aluminum contour adapter plate will mate it all up to the FFR windshield (I think). If it stinks I'll revert back to FFR dash.
That said, people should check out the nice ducting in their WRX dashes. The bits and parts could be used to help make up defrost systems using the FFR dash and the vents might be useable too.
